About me and my practice

Hello. I specialise in helping people with drug and alcohol problems, including addiction. I’m a warm and approachable, non-judgemental guy, who knows what it’s like to be stuck and to experience these feelings, that’s why I qualified as I did- to help you. I use many research based approaches to do this, to help you into change, to explore your relationship with your drug of [no] choice and to move you into a safer, more secure future. I work face to face in Hove, East Sussex and in Lewes and I also offer remote sessions. I’ve a website that’s updated regularly www.recoveredcounselling.com am fully insured and also a registered member of the BACP. I won’t tell you what to do, but I’ll help you find the strength to empower yourself.

Outline of offer

All my sessions are 50 minutes long and start with you telling me what’s going on, starting to explore where it is you think you want to get to- truth is, you may not be sure, but that’s common and we’ll work on finding that out. Some people want to stop altogether, some just want to get some control back. I won’t tell you what to do, this will all be collaborative, exploring this is the start of the work. Going forwards depends on how we start. Many of my clients are long term, some are shorter term, I tend to suggest looking at 6 sessions and then a review. All my sessions are £80.

Experience

I have many years experience personally and professionally with addiction and am now in long term, sustained recovery. I think that’s important for you to know. I relate to the feelings and have worked on myself to come through the dark times. You can too. I’ve a post grad diploma in Addiction Psychology & Counselling.
