About me and my practice

I have extensive experience of working with people in both individual and group settings, specialising in addiction, complex trauma, grief and loss. I will help you to better understand why you react and feel the way you do by drawing on a ranch of approaches to explore your past for experiences which may help to explain your current situation. Together we can look for unhelpful belief systems which may be holding you back and perpetuating your unwanted patterns of behaviour. In so doing, you will develop a greater appreciation of your abilities, difficulties, motivations, worries, the confidence to express your emotions, and an increased capacity to find alternative ways of solving your problems resulting in a more fulfilling life and relationships.

Outline of offer

As I believe passionately in promoting autonomy, and empowering individuals to explore their own therapeutic journey, I create and hold a confidential, non-judgemental, empathic space in which to achieve this . I am passionate about encouraging every individual who reaches out for help, and feel privileged to be part of another’s voyage of discovery. Therapy should be a safe and collaborative relationship reflecting the values of integrity, sensitivity, compassion and realism so I develop deep and honest relationships with clients, whilst maintaining professional boundaries. My approach holds a strong focus on the integration of body and mind and spirit.

Experience

I have a MSc in Addiction Psychology & Counselling, supported by several advanced diplomas including Neurosomatic Psychotherapy, Energy Therapy, Trauma Therapy, Jungian Perspectives Psychotherapy and a Certificate in the Clinical Practice of Jungian Psychotherapy. In addition to my private practice, I have worked in local addiction recovery agencies, pre and post addiction recovery projects and in an innovative recovery day centre within the NHS. I also offer clinical supervision.
